Deputy Minister of Economy Sevinj Hasanova met with young ambassadors selected for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The deputy minister noted the active participation of young people in the measures implemented in this direction in Azerbaijan, which joined the SDG initiative covering the years 2016-2030. He pointed out that the main goal of the activity of the young ambassadors selected under this initiative is to encourage the active participation of young people in achieving the SDGs, and to support state institutions in this direction.
Sevinj Hasanova reported on the work done in Azerbaijan towards achieving the SDGs, the activities of the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development established by the relevant Decree of the head of state, the two Voluntary National Reports submitted by Azerbaijan to the UN High-Level Political Forum, and the youth were actively involved in the preparation of these reports. invited to participate.
Indira Hajiyeva, head of the department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, said that the initiative of young ambassadors for SDGs was implemented on the basis of the project "Creation of new platforms for supporting the active participation of young people in global political discussions", and drew attention to the measures implemented within the project. Indira Hajiyeva noted that the young ambassadors work on a voluntary basis and emphasized the importance of this initiative in the process of expanding volunteering activities in Azerbaijan and adapting them to international practice.
At the meeting, the projects and proposals of the young ambassadors on the Sustainable Development Goals were heard.
In the end, it was considered appropriate to coordinate the activities of the young ambassadors with the Secretariat of the National Coordinating Council for Sustainable Development, to implement the work of the young ambassadors in the regions.
